Hardly any woman can picture her life without a handbag; it is a must-have accessory. Any outfit, be it a dance tutu with a tight-fitting top paired with flat shoes or classical black-and-white business attire, needs to be complimented with a handbag. Besides being an accessory, it has a practical function serving as a storage space for things that a woman might need during a day. Some women are said to have their whole life in one bag.
Hold-alls are a modern necessity
According to some UK studies, a modern woman can't leave the house without her favourite bag weighing 5lb (2,27 kg). Researchers say that the average weight of a handbag has increased by 38% in the recent years and today women carry bags that are twice as heavy as the ones worn by their mothers. Moreover, it is predicted to grow up to 6.6lb (3 kg) in the future. Many partly blame numerous top-notch gadgets that women carry in their bags along with make-up, tissues, keys, organisers, hairbrushes, mirrors, hand creams etc. Smaller bags are unable to cope with the weight of laptop and mobile phone chargers, MP3 players and digital cameras and are replaced by large hold-alls. Commonly they feature lots of compartments which women widely use to arrange their possessions.
Big handbags are one of the popular fashion trends today. They go well with casual outfits comprising a dance tutu, a stylish top, leggings and low-heeled pumps or ballerina flats. Business women are much into big bags too, since they can fit everything they need into them. They are one of the most favourite outfit items of students who have a lot of stuff to carry. Some ballet class students can be spotted rushing to school in a dance tutu and a leotard accessorised with a large bag where they often carry ballet shoes or other types of dancewear while sport enthusiasts sometimes use them for carrying gym wear.
Small-sized bags are great for an evening out
When it comes to going out, a clutch bag is what a woman needs to look stunning. Clutches come in various designs, shapes and colours to compliment any look. There are square, rectangular, heart-shaped, envelope-shaped bags to choose from and a variety of fastening clasps. Clutch bags are believed to look great with classical, casual or creative outfits. Usually party girls wearing a glamorous dance tutu, a bright top and tight leggings paired with ultra-high stilettos decide on a statement clutch bag to add a polished finish to the look. One can accessorise a little black Chanel dress with a clutch to add a touch of elegance and femininity or wear it with a pair of tight-fitting jeans and a tunic on a night out. Some modern fashionistas prefer classical clutches to chic envelope clutch bags which boast more room for items such as wallets, keys, sunglasses, lipstick and so on.
As one can see, fashion designers offer modern women a great choice of handbags to meet their needs to the full. They are specially designed to finish both a super-elegant and a-dance-tutu-and-a-top outfit.
