Chapter 23-
(Andie's POV)
Andie's Aunt Jenny was waiting in the airport. Jenny was by far Andie's favorite aunt. She was young, rich, and lived in a gorgeous apartment overlooking the beach. When Andie asked her about moving in with her, Jenny was more than happy to help her niece out. After Andie saw Jenny holding up a huge sign that said "Andie: Welcome home!" she ran up to her and gave her a hug. "Jen, you are so ridiculous. I could have just called you to find out where you were picking me up." "Yah I know, but I wanted to surprise you kiddo." Andie smiled as she followed her aunt to her brand new Porsche. When Andie saw it, she stopped in her tracks: it was the coolest car she had ever seen. "Nice wheels: how do you afford all this?" Jenny laughed as she helped Andie put all her luggage in the tiny trunk. A Porsche was not the best thing to pick someone up in who had enough luggage to last her five years.
"I guess I'm just good at what I do." Andie's aunt was an interior designer. Well, a very good one: who had helped makeover many celebrities' homes. "Now, how do manage to pack everything you own?" "I guess I'm just gifted." Jenny and Andie both laughed. After they fit everything in the trunk, they got into the car and drove to Jenny's apartment. Jenny pulled into the parking garage and helped Andie carry all her luggage inside. When Andie walked in the door she was speechless: it was a typical interior designer's house. Every piece of furniture was placed in an exact spot and all the décor matched perfectly with a little splash of color here and there. It was as if Andie was walking into a home decorating magazine. Jenny showed Andie to the guest bedroom and helped her unpack. It took them a good two hours to get everything put away and situated. By that time it was already ten o'clock, so Jenny offered to cook a small meal before Andie headed off to bed. Besides being one of the best interior designers in LA, Jenny was also the best cook in Andie's family. She was very health conscious so Andie was sure that she would be eating very healthy while staying with her aunt.
After putting together two salads, Jenny and Andie sat down at the table. "So tell your aunt why you wanted to come here." Andie sighed and put her fork back down. "I miss California so much. North Carolina is so different and I can't stand it." "You mean, you miss Kevin so much." Jenny smiled as she dug her fork into the salad. "Ok, you got me." After they were finished eating, Andie decided to go to bed. After eight hours on a plane, she wanted to sleep in a real bed. As soon as she got into the bed, Jenny knocked on the door and came in. "Hey I just want you to know that I'm going to be at a client's house tomorrow, so I won't be home till like five or six. I'll give you my credit card though so that you can shop."
"You don't have to do that you know." "No, I don't, but I feel bad for you, so I want to do it." Jenny placed the card on the table next to the bed and then walked out of the room. Andie stared up at the ceiling: wondering whether she should call Kevin and meet up with him for lunch. Then, she decided she would call her old boss at Starbucks and see if they still had an opening for her. She was thinking so much that when she looked at the clock she was surprised to see it was already two in the morning. It was at that moment she realized how tired she really was.
